The JMU men's A-side beat Maryland 26-12 at John Carr Field on Saturday, October 24, closing out the 52nd Alumni Reunion Weekend with a home win.
Coach Mark Fowler called it an organized, structured team performance. Tries came from Bobby Schroder, Nathan Goff, Connor O'Hehir and Andrew Ringel, and Morgan Vaughan kicked three conversions.
It was a young side that got it done. Eleven freshmen and sophomores were in the squad on Saturday.
The B-side also beat Maryland, 24-12, and the JMU women won their match earlier in the day.
The win moves JMU to 5-2. This Saturday is a bye week over fall break, which gives the squad time to heal before the trip to Delaware on Saturday, November 7. That match decides third place in the conference.
Thank you to everyone who came back to Harrisonburg for the 52nd Alumni Reunion Weekend. Membership keeps JMU Rugby alumni connected to the club all season.
