JMU hosts Maryland on Saturday, October 24 at John Carr Field, the final match of the 52nd Alumni Reunion Weekend. The men's A side kicks off at 2:00 PM Eastern, with the men's alumni match at 3:15 PM and the B side at 3:30 PM.

A local derby

Coach Mark Fowler is expecting a tight one. He calls the Maryland fixture 'always an arm wrestle' and one that is now a local derby. Maryland have been putting up impressive numbers this season and are comfortably outscoring most of their opponents, and both sides can score in bunches. As Fowler puts it, Saturday 'may come down to which defense can handle the pressure without breaking.'

Third in the conference on the line

The result also matters in the table. JMU, Maryland, and Delaware are all chasing third in the conference, so Saturday's outcome moves the standings. The Dukes come in off a 34-17 win over Temple, where an early 24-0 lead held up through a tighter second half.

Back at John Carr Field for Alumni Weekend

The match caps a full weekend in Harrisonburg. Saturday opens with the women's side at 10:00 AM and runs through the men's card in the afternoon, before the evening social at Feel the Rain Brothers Brew Co. with the Women's 50th Anniversary celebration.
